I will be hatching cream legbar eggs from my own flock! One of my girls started laying yesterday.

Oh dear, what am I getting into. My bidding finger without my sane mind's permission bid on 2 emu eggs on ebay. Hope I lose. I blame Kathy and Mary for enabling me.

I am probably the lone stranger but for me this year at least it is only Icelandics, to do them justice, two breeding roosters, to keep in separate harems, at least one brood pen to build, and probably a couple other brood pens and sparate rooster pens,

I am going to be mainly using the dark enhanced feathered rooster the most, but also want some chicks by Bjorn for standby, he has so much going for him in size and vigor, enough size to offset the other if he doesnt mature as big as I'd like, alhough it is catching up with the white rooster. They are very close in size right now. We'll see, Bjorn is big from being dominant at the feeding.

The emus are tempting, but, there are a couple other scandinavian chickens I'd try first.

Life is good, and better with Icelandic Chickens !

Mary has my son (12) wanting emu's. He went to dinner with my DH and DH's parents and all he talked about were emu's.
