Then I saw these tracks - guessing raccoon? They completely circled my brooder coop, then cruised by my welsummer coop (outside the fence), then went down along my large coop (outside the fence) and along my garden fence.

It has been so warm and humid lately! 80 degrees! IN MARCH!!! I have already had started getting tanned from working outside!


I have set 9 Icelandic eggs in the incubator yesterday. I have dipped them in tylan mixed in water, hopefully the chicks will hatch out clean, please pray that it will work. I have culled all the chicks that I have hatch in the last 3 months today. That is around 40 chicks or so.

I meant to ask, how is your Icelandic Sheepdog with the chickens? Does he leave them alone?

He's ok with them, won't hurt them. If left on his own he would chase/herd them, but I can call him off.

That's good. What does he do if there are predators? Have you had any experience with that?
