Icelandic Chickens

Hi Icelander

Yes, I know I am pushing the edge on them from Iceland to Alaska, they will have good winter shelter up there, plus concentrating on crested, featherlegged, rose combed ones to help in whatever way it can be, time will tell.

Thanks for sharing the video, beautiful flock ! I noticed not many RCs though. Interesting that.

Funny thing was, as they were crowing my puppys in their crate were looking at the puter table and around it for where the chickens were ! They have seen and heard them outside and then they couldnt figure out where they were in here, it was really funny. Now they are dozing again.

Life is good, and better with Icelandic Chickens !

Wow, JIm, that's great! I didn't list your name because I didn't think you had any chicks yet! I can hardly wait to see what you get. I had my other Ari cockerel, Boi, in with my solid/near solid white Audun daughters and incubated some eggs and then put them under a broody at hatch time. The chicks are pictured with Dulla (Drottning's hatchmate and "twin") earlier in this thread......four browns and three blondes.

Thought I'd just put this here. A video from an Icelandic breeder in Iceland of her flock's spring outing

Thank you for posting this. I see alot of the same colors in my flock as those in the video.

Mary I have Verizon, for my internet, and my cellphone, and my monthly bill is just under $100/month.

Hughes was much more, and not available everywhere dispite the ads, I have used my laptop enroute to Wa in my van, and used it all winter in Wa, no problems, and I am told it will be available in AK.

Not much comparison to me. Hughes as far as I know is the priciest service in the country.
We gave up Wild Blue and switched to a Verizon Hot Spot too. Wild Blue was just SO SLOW! No other options for us either.

I can't believe I haven't posted in almost two days!! An extra day of work this week and soooo much to do outside this time of the year........

Kathy and Mary, My DH keeps talking about switching our internet from Verizon Wirless to Hughes Net.....I keep telling him NO!...but he insists Verizon isn't worth what we pay for it.....I think it's great from everything I've heard from you two!! Our options out here are very limited.

Kathy,

on the loss of the broody babies and

to your solution.

Great goat kid pics everyone.......I have a local friend with dairy goats and love to go see the kids!

Jake, Sounds like you're going to be ready to handle whatever is thrown at you! Good luck with the move!

Where are the pics of my "grand chicks"?! Mahonri, joyous, karimw.......I'm talkin' to you!

SORRY SORRY! I'm on it.

My cats enjoyed the video too, or at least until the rooster crowed, then they lost interest.

Icelander,
Thanks for the video! I enjoyed it.

I have an off topic video to share. Obviously, I am not so good with the video editor, but am practicing. I have alot to learn. Wilma is a wild woman, as you will see here.

No video shows up for me.

No add blocker here, but I LOVED the video!

Soon you'll be putting effects in like The Sheriff!

It's 98 degrees out there right now... I lost one of my NYD Ameraucanas today to the heat.

They have two big waterers there in the grow out pen but I don't think it's enough.

My chicks from Easter are just panting.... I hope they make it.
