Icelandic Chickens

Oh goodness. Kathy, congrats on the sweet babies. And those Orps are lovely! I love how floofy that breed gets.

The Sheriff - Just had to say, Lukka looks so cute on her little nest

We retrieved Lukka and 12 eggs she was sitting on from the high weeds around this rock.

She and the 9 developing eggs were placed in the broody condo. I will incubate the three clears for a few days and see if they develop. Little Fugly is using the Big Egg at this time so I put her in the corner.

She is on her throne where she will be hand fed scrambled eggs and vitamin water everyday. She looks pleased. I wish I'd kept track of the number of times she has been broody! I am happy. My girl is safe at home.

oh she is a serious looking chicken in he last picture

Is it because it is HD?
No, I like the music. Both are very cute though.

Guess what I just got?!

My first chocolate babies! Eggs from LF Black Orps, sired by Mr. Chocolate.
The chocolate gene is sex linked. Brown chicks = female. Black chicks = male (carrying the choc gene)

Congrats! Your pair have filled out nicely.
