Icelandic Chickens

Importation update: All the tests have come back negative! I'll pick up the eggs and the precious health certificate up tomorrow and they will fly with me to the US. I'll be bringing 40 eggs, which is way more than my current backyard homestead set-up can handle. Thank God I will have 3 weeks to figure everything out.

Still can't believe everything worked out and this is really happening, it's been a lot of work but the USDA inspector has indicated that I have everything in order and that I should not have any trouble passing inspection and customs on the US side.



This process is incredibly time consuming and expensive, not surprised people have been put off from doing this.

My broody Icelandic has hatched at least 3 or 4!! She hasn't come off the nest yet but I have seen for sure 3 maybe 4 peeking out.. 1 yellow and 3 chipmunks... I'll try and get a picture tomorrow of the brood. She has been the best little girl the past 3 weeks!!!
