i agree with the others that your chickens will probably be fine. You may want to work on that lattice issue so you don't end up with a repeat performance.

Your chickens will be prefectly fine. It was a nice addition of protein to their diet. I've left a huge daed rat in the pen which they ate to the bone, they eat chicken and turkey carcasses, left-over meat, etc.

I've always wondered what would happen if I were outside and dropped dead. By the time DH got home again, what would be left of me? I think they'd start with the eyes....

They are always threatening me with their squawks and stink eyes if I approach and have no treats with me. I think they are saying - "better hope you don't drop dead on the lawn!"

Yikes!
Before I had chickens I always figured I could drop dead in the barn and feed the barncat for a while...
Now I have an alternate Plan - keel over in the henhouse...

Truly gross reportage OP

And here I was thinking I had crossed some sort of line when I had dinner outside the other night.
It was leftover grilled chicken and my girls were all over me bawking and trying to see if it was for them...so I tossed down a couple teeny pieces and LOOKOUT!
They were on them like white on rice.
Kinda ooged me out so I do not think I will repeat the experiment.
