Idaho?

anyone know enough about breeds to help identify a few of my girls? just curious

this white hen was a rescued bird - too cold to wash her up

was told she was an ameraucauna, but I'm thinking easter egger...

Thinking a large sex link

no clue here...

Looks like you have some cute mixes there...the 2nd
is an EE

thanks for the confirmation - i have 3 of them (i put my guesses in my siggy, not what I was told, lol) don't think they have been laying since we moved them to our place. my neighbor swears that she was getting blue eggs, but i have yet to see one... mostly likely they were a shade of green. haven't even seen those - silly free-loaders!

#1 and #4 maybe some Leghorn mix?? #2 looks like an EE, thinking #3 is a mix, I believe black sexlinks usually just have the gold/red feathering on their chests, and that one has partridge looking feathering all over... but I'm no expert by ANY means!

OMGoodness I am so excited for chickenstock, I can't even describe!! I requested it off from work and the 2 days before, even to be ready, haha!! THANKS Shawn!!

Guessing on the hen photos: #1 and #4 are probably White Leghorns, maybe Leghorn crosses, a Wheaten and Exchequer respectively. #2 is a Blue Wheaten Easter Egger, and #3 might be a Road Island Red, I can't see tail feathers or body shape well enough, or maybe a Red Orpington.

Well, I'll go with the White Leghorn crosses for #1 & #4 - since both of you seem to be in agreement there :) I am supposed to have 1 RIR but I always thought it was the solid red that can barely be seen in photos 2 & 4 - the pics I've seen of RIR show solid coloring. Although - the woman I got them from swears that #3 is a RIR and the solid colored one is a sex-linked. I have an additional picture of the solid red hen in my album. there is also another shot of #3 in there (perhaps you could see those details you mentioned IdaArchae) - I called her the Queen because she rules the roost

. Still working on my chicken portrait skills - If you still can't see the details don't worry about it - I appreciate your opinions already!

the three easter eggers have slightly different coloring - they are the most skittish of my flock and it was difficult to grab a clear picture so I posted the best one i had. I'm guessing the the small differences in colors and shape would possibly indicate a different hybrid? they all have the same beards.

I don't mind having mutts as a starting flock, I have learned so much already - I feel very blessed!

I have chickenstock marked on my calendar - sounds fun

Hey Marcie can I trade you my 2 SLW's for your hen in photo #2 and the hen in the middle on photo #4 (the one with the dark head/light colored body)?
