Glad you have joined us! I'm new to chickens too. My 8 youngsters are growing fast....my hubby and I are amazed at how fast they go through their food and water....be prepared!

Nice to meet you! I'm new too but an avid reader and researcher. We hope to start incubating some fertile eggs from my friend later this year if the ones she hatches come out cute.

thank you! Those girls were about 3 weeks old there. Now they are 6! They crack me up. I have 9 babies in the bathroom brooder. 3 are 16 days old and 6 are 9 days old. We have 3 black jersey giants now that are 9 or 10 weeks old. I forgot. I have 3 black Jersey Giants, 4 Light Brahmas, 4 Easter eggers (they were advertised as Araucana but we know that trick lol), 2 silver-laced wyandotte, and 1 black sex-link. so much fun! I am almost done with the run. I just put a new door in the coop on the side facing the run so I didn't have to change directions on the coop.

Our brooder looks just the same (saw your other pics)! We have eight and they are going to out grow it fast! 4 are the Silver Laced Wyandottes at three weeks old and 4 are Barred Rocks at 2 weeks old. The SLW are not so pretty or cute looking right now, and they are little Sh*ts...pardon my language...but that is the best way to describe them...lol.
