I have been in dog rescue (Moonsong Malamute Rescue) for 12 years. You can't fix stupid. All you can do is try to get the dogs away and into a better situation so they don't keep going after livestock. As much as I love dogs, I also am not opposed to shooting one that goes after horses or other livestock, including my little cluck clucks! Luckily, I have an anti canine device on guard in the pasture 24-7, and my chickens share that space. My Pryor Mountain Mustang hate dogs. I had to put up a sign "Dog Owners, If Your Dog Roams Here, It WILL BE STOMPED FLAT!" We fence to keep dogs out, but once in a while one digs in. The last one left a lot faster than he arrived, and he didn't visit again. He thought it would be fun to chase my old Appy girl. He didn't figure on Paladin. I came out to see what was what when I heard the high pitched whistle alert that Pal uses. I stepped outside in time to see Sissy breathing hard at the other end of the paddock, and this dog running for it's life from a really ****** off black 'stang! My dogs stay away, they know better. He has rapped a couple on the head for sticking there stupid faces through the cattle panels.
Not the best photo yet but we got our two ducks a nice bigger pool to swim in. Just need to get some river rock so they have some place to swim swim instead of float in their water dish (while the chickens try to drink, lol). They had fun... they don't have free range to the pool though only because it is out of their area under shaded trees. So we walk them to it.
There are a couple of guys who are ordering eggs and just hatching whatever intrigued them
.
They have a breeding trio of solid white pure AMs which they had purchased from a breeder in Texas, and I had reserved to buy some of those chicks. When I stopped to get them they also had Choc Orps. I couldn't resist. The price was ouchy ouchy and I almost passed (plus they really weren't anxious to sell!!!), but since I bought 10 white AMs they dealt with me. Still real ouchy price but couldn't pass up the little Choc fluff babies.
My budget is now blown for two months after my pick up of the Mottled AMs from Pawtraitart later this month.
That's okay since I'll be breaking my back finishing more runs on coops...lol. Plus have to have one for these when they grow up!!
Anybody need a black English type orpington cockeral? I'd love to trade him for an English splash orp cockeral. I need some new blood in my orp pen and don't really want another black. PM me if you have something. (He's from very a very good line)

I'm going to end up with 10 silkies and only want to keep about 4. Anyone interested in my others? Once they are old enough to sex I'll be getting rid of some, since I can't keep roos here, and don't want a ton (hubby would kill me!). I have 2 buff and have blues coming this week. They'd be free to a good home!
I'm in Meridian, and won't mind delivering a little ways, or meeting half way or whatever. Just shoot me a PM!
I'll be sure to post again and put up pics when they're ready to go.
In other news... I'm really hoping for blue splash hens! Lol.
And my little ones got to go into the run for the first time today!
This was their second time outside, and they were out with me for about an hour! They were much more happy this time and didn't want to come back in. Big difference from last time when they just wanted to hide!
I'm coming up to get chicks from Pawtraitart end of May. Daloorashens, can't remember where you're located. Maybe I can swing around and grab that roo for Sphinx when I come up.
You know, the famous chicken train that runs from Idaho to Utah and back again... looks like I've joined it...lol.
