Idaho?

Michelle--Here is an idea, the chickens can run around on the floor and then put shelves above them for your greens lol

Squeaky I would also take the ACV and probiotics, everything out of the water and give them plain water and plain feed for a few days. They might just need to settle everything down in their little sytems :) That is alot on their little tummies.

Aha! My nameless EE is a picker. Just saw her goose poor Dinah --the one I saw have a bloody poo-- 3 times. On closer inspection, she has a scab there. Miss Goose probably noticed the feathers coming in under Dinah's vent and has been picking at them. How do I handle this?

I will still of course take them off the medicated feed.

Pawtrait? The cochins were from you. Care to chime?

And how bad would it be to keep them on the feed until I can actually get to a feed store that doesn't carry medicated feed only? Could I perhaps dilute it with cornmeal and/or some finely crushed alfalfa pellets? Or those exclusively
I haven't sold any cochin chicks this year except for the 3 blue ones I brought that somebody is picking up today...(nobody bought them at Chickenstock), so your babies might be out of hens that I sold, but weren't hatched here. Who did you get them from?

I got them from Kalalyn on here and I thought she said they came from you, I even posted on your facebook about it asking why the hot pink marks. Vocabulary problem perhaps? I mentioned in earlier posts that they are bantam cochins.

Anyway, the poor baby just did a normal poop but she was straining and noisy about it.

Yeah....I took it as they were my "grand-chicks" out of a hen I sold. It didn't occur to me that you meant they came out of my brooder. Duh! Too much going on. My brain is mush.

I did not get the Cochins from Pawtrait. They were vaccinated and not on medicated feed. I bought them about 2-3 weeks ago locally in the valley.

Maybe my name came to mind in regards to the cochin chicks since I had three simply adorable blue split to mottled bantam cochin chicks at the show. That they ended up not selling was okay since I had the little polish chick I bought to take home and he had buddies to snuggle, I would have bought some buddies, no doubt. One lonely chick in a brooder is a sad thing.

I'll just hide quietly in the corner now. Lol, I thought you said they were from Q-something so I assumed you meant QCU. Yep hiding now. Looks like she's fine now other than it being uncomfortable to poo.

Edited to Add: Someone just told me that even feeding them medicated once voids the vaccine and now they HAVe to stay on it? Opinions? A friend from church is going to give me some of her leftover regular feed from when her girls were chicks tonight to tide them over until the dang store here stocks nonmedicated. Would they be okay if I take the medicated away now and feed them tonight?
