Idaho?

Jubilee Orp's would be cool to add to my other orps, but at the moment I don't have the space...if only I had one more coop and run built. Maybe in the future I will have the space and the funds to expand.

Does anyone in the Idaho area breed / sell ducklings / hatching duck eggs? I am just curious... we aren't adding any time soon but when we do I do want to know who I can contact! : )

How is the little blue Bantam Cochin doing that I gave you?
does she still look like a pullet?

oh she is doing great yeah its a pullet not showing any roo signs she is loving her new home i let her out today in the yard a bit befor i had to go to the dr;s and stuff and she was taking in the sun with all the other babies i got..

how do you get a Jubilee Orp? those are gorgeous *as I slap my hand... must not think of chickens*
These are English imports. I think there is a breeder who made them from scratch starting with speckled sussex and buff orpingtons as well. I don't remember who it is.

Hi Michelle

I'll certainly make the drive to get the Ameraucanas!!

Thanks for the heads up on these.

Great! I hope I hatch enough for somebody to go forward with this color. I DO NOT need another breed but it would be cool to have these in Idaho/Utah in case I need more. LOL

Sure do! I raise muscovy ducks. I have eggs in my incubator, eggs under a broody, and hatching eggs as well. I LOVE muscovy ducks.

Wow, I am very late seeing this post!!  My BCM's lay, on average, every other day, and they occasionally take short breaks.. they were winter hardy, my roo lost just the very points on his comb, and that's with the -18 temps we had and no supplemental heat...

Color of chicken doesn't influence the color of eggs it will lay ;)

Ohhh.. I can definitely see the chicken potential!!

Is that from one of my eggs???  I haven't hatched a white one yet, fun!!

Jub orp?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!  I need to get on your waiting list NOW for a pullet :D

I hope that polish chick is a boy for you!! It had the cutest personality in the 24 hours I had him!!

Yep one of your eggs. Today is day 21 and have 2 hatched so far. The other is an EE as well. Super puffy cheeks from what I can tell. Will have to take some pics in a few days and post them.

Just found out that my sister-in-law has an oilfield 'man camp' trailer she might not want. If so, it'll come here. They make awesome chicken coops when dropped off their axles, and chicken doors are cut into them, and runs are built. Talk about strong, safe, insulated and already wired for electricity!! Perfect ready-made coops!! Since they are 10X20 I split up the interior. Perfect for another three to four breeds to occupy separately ...lol. Now to get caught up on runs for the coops I already have....

I put up a poll on my QCU facebook page if anybody is interested in voting. It's time to decide how many birds to keep in my breeding pens for the 2014 season.

I have a problem and need some help figuring it out. I separated my ameracaunas about a month ago so far I have only found 2 eggs they got out a few weeks ago we got them back in the second coop but still no eggs my dad said he thought he saw egg shells in a barrel I put in the coop for a nest box. Yesterday when I was out there and checked them I found scat in the pet taxi also for nesting looks kinda like cat but wasn't buried. We have had mink problems before but they usually kill the birds and hide them. None of the birds have come up missing. My dad says they perch up on the wall at night. I did not smell skunk when I was in the coop but my dad has been smelling one lately.
Any ideas??
