A lot of the birds from the spring and fall auction are from other folks than the IBBA members. There have been some top quality birds there by some of the better breeders. For beginners wanting to test out the chicken thing or people wanting pets it's great not to have to pay the high dollars. I always bring a couple nice birds to donate. Some one ended up with a nice pair of chocolates and a kid that wanting to show ended up with with a bantam Partridge Wyandotte Rooster I bought from Jerry Foley ( I paid 70.00 for the cockerel, the kid got him for 3 bucks...Theres always deals at every auction just got to wade thru....
If you are looking for all nice birds, the auction to go to is the one at the show. They encourage only quality birds to be sold there.
Yes, entry's must be post marked by the 21st of august. It is a double show (State plus a district show = more points)so will attract more birds from out of state. I am the webmaster for the IBBA so read the stuff and ask questions as I am putting it up...
