Idaho?

You mean the flatlanders??  (no offense, lol)

Now that was funny! I hadn't heard that reference before. But if I lived in the treasure valley, McCall would be a contender as a great place to escape the heat. Luckily I live in the mountains about 1,000 ft above Pocatello. Prefect for escaping the heat... but you should see the snow still in my yard!

Here in McCall we might get rid of our snow in a couple more weeks, its been like a heat wave here.

It has been here too. We got more snow this year than last, but it was the 2nd week of April last year before I could see my little Christmas reindeer. They emerged a couple weeks ago! But we are getting more snow right now. Booooo! Supposed to be 3-4 inches by morning.

We keep warming up before precipitation and cooling down on the sunny days. I guess nature doesn't want us to get any more here thankfully.

ask zoning office
also might be able to look it up on the city website...I know in Twin Falls they have a section with the pans and forms that have to be submitted before having anything other than standard pets...dogs, cats, etc
seems they may be a bit more friendly about having birds!!!:

Yes, often you can find local code and ordinances online with a simple search county or city name + ordinance.
In Idaho, as long as it's zoned rural to ag residential you can have livestock unless the county or a homeowners association has enacted their own restrictions.
Obviously, within city limits, each city sets their own restrictions.

Thank you. I have done multiple searches, and found info on fowl and poultry, but nothing specific regarding roosters. I know many areas allow chickens, but no roos.

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure if you are in Canyon County and not in city limits that roosters are allowed. I live in Ada County and I am not within any city limits and we are allowed to have roosters. The only other thing I could think of is to make sure your neighborhood association doesn't have a clause against roosters, if you have a neighborhood association.
