IDEAL Hatchery: When did you get your chicks?

They should be there in the morning early. I understand Ideal ships chicks every day and knows how long it takes but don't think they will email you when they will arrive. All Ideal can do is hand them over to the post office. The post office will call when your package gets to them. Let us know when they arrive.

Your saying they won't notify us when they leave Ideal?

Thats odd other people get notified when their chicks have hatched, and when they leave ideal.

This is so confusing.

This is the email I got when I placed my order

Thank you for your order. We are glad you chose to order ‘IDEAL’ Poultry.

Your order will ship from the hatchery on 02/29/12

This is the first available date for your entire order.

You will receive another notification once your order has shipped.

I did receive an email when the shipped like they stated I just didnt keep that email. So if your chicks hatched today then you should get an email late tonight and they will ship early morning --- IF the same happens for you as it did for me.
Good luck :)

Ok thank you :) I can't wait to get that lol I have been re arranging everything here to keep my mind off it and keep busy. And looking for space to stuff these lil buggers. Thank you to the OP for starting this thread it has really helped a lot and thank you to everyone who has answered questions.

New chicks can go 3 days without food or water as they pull the yolk into their abdomen right before hatching. They don't need food or water for shipping

I order the weekly special - surprise special pullets and one white leghorn rooster

On the web site says they are only for the May 23rd hatch.

It says they will be what ever pullets are left over that anyone doesn't buy.
