PC what you have to understand and it took me awhile because Ideal has to take a legal stand. They are not saying they have infected MG flock, they are saying that in all that is given there is a high chance their birds some or all have come into contact with MG, much like we are in contact with disease on a daily basis. The original post pointed to an epidemic in Ideal's flock which was a lie. It also pointed to the a MD lab tested Ideal on site birds also a lie. The birds in fact were not just shipped chicks and were exposed to other environments. The original OP I think here as they sell also is obligated to inform us whether their own flock is MG Clean.
I understand what you have been through, and I was upset and scared in the beginning. I commend you on your attempts to obtain a MG- flock, but I will say that to keep exposure from MG you will almost need to maintain a sterile flock and birds from a sterile flock I do not want, they will die at the least exposure to any disease. This is the point Ideal was making with the remark that not keeping a clean flock was a service. They should have used sterile in the post I admit so others would understand what they explained to me.
What is happening is all here are taking the quote of a flock that is not MG Clean to mean a diseased flock. And I pointed out in my post that the lack of losing production, or mortality, or even symptom that their flock is disease free and NOT infected with MG. Though more than likely they have been exposed, much like you may have been exposed to a disease if you ever kissed anyone. The birds that did test positive in MD were ALL birds in the possession of individuals NOT Ideal, the disease can come from anywhere.
Soo what we have is a honest company who raises healthy happy birds. They collect eggs that even if the hens are MG infected there is only a 10% chance of that disease being passed to the chicks. And we must remember that the disease is only passed by a shedding hen, who will have noticeable symptoms. The eggs are collected and put in sanitized incubators so they have no longer any contact with the flock, and are then hatched in a sanitized hatcher where the employees using proper bio security sort and ship them with no more contact with the flock.
