Hi all, I have not posted in quite some time (been busy with college/life in general) but I'm back, and I need help identifying two peahens. They are clearly BS but I suspect they are also something more. The story is that my dad got them from a business associate of his who didn't know anything about them, my dad could tell that they were BS and suspected that they were a mother daughter pair. The suspected mother was slightly larger at the time, and the two were inseparable. He popped them in with an IB male and by the time I got back from school the larger bird was on a nest. She hatched three female chicks, one IB and two BS (apparently the male is split BS) which are now a year old.

Anyway, when I got home I noticed that the larger, suspected mother is darker than a normal BS peahen and the smaller, suspected daughter is MUCH lighter than a normal BS peahen. The lighter bird is definitely a different color and the darker one might be, but because pictures of peahens are less common than pictures of peacocks I have had a hard time identifying them. If you guys have any idea what color they are I would greatly appreciate it.

The two of them together (all photos are from this week)

Close up on both of them (note how light the younger bird is)

One of the yearling hens that the darker one hatched last summer (note that she has typical BS coloring and is probably only carrying her mothers color)

    Totally unrelated hen for reference

The darker one is IB bs hen, its normal to get some hens darker than others, the lighter I don't know what is it I can't see it good enough in my phone.

These are Purple Black Shoulder hens, the one on the left is about 50% to 75% Spaulding.
