It's not 4 species...that was the point. You could say 4 categories...but not species. There are quite a few different species of rattlers alone.

I think it is a checkerboard garter snake, if it is, they are NON poisonous. We used to have them in a pet shop I worked at long time ago.

There are 3 types of venomous snakes in North America.

There are 30 species of venomous snakes in North America.

Cottonmouth and Copperhead are the same type.

And that is a garter snake.
