Identifying Martha

This is Martha. She just took a dust bath so her back has dirt on it. We got her as a rescue and were told she was a Barred Rock. However she really doesn't have the same type markings, she's more speckled and her feathers are black and white with no visable other colors. We really love her she's very friendly loves to be picked up and follows us around the farm like a dog. She's also very smart and can spot the meal worm container from quite a distance and beats me to the coop every time to get a treat. We'd love to know what she is so we could either borrow a rooster of the same breed for her to hatch some eggs or else buy a few chicks to raise with her in the hopes they learn from her. Any ideas as to what she is?

Her white earlobes and body type suggest leghorn or some other Mediteranean breed. She looks somewhat like an exchequer leghorn, but is most likely a cross of some sort.

looks like an exchequer leghorn but leg color does look wrong so maybe leghorn mix. how old is she? comb doesnt look big enough to be a leghorn either, another indication that she could be a leghorn mix

Best estimates are that Martha is 3-4 years old. She lays soft brown color eggs. She's smaller than Ethyl our White Leghorn and about the same size as the 2 RIRs. She just has the most amazing personality...

Those feathers make me think of Speckled Sussex, and those are also known for their great personalities.

She lays brown eggs. Are you sure? Her earlobes are white, usually that means she should lay a white egg.

I have an Exchequer Leghorn. She's the friendliest, most talkative, nosiest girl. Yours sounds like she could have that type of personality.

her eggs are well eggshell color LOL They aren't a true brown but they aren't white either. She is very talkitive and before I let them out for the day she'll run over to the gate to say hello and a few other things too.
