IDing for a friend.

I suspect they might all be cockerels.

I was cringing as a scrolled through the pictures. That is rotten luck.

Me too! How discouraging to get all male chicks. I don't think it's just coincidence, though. The odds are too small.

Thank you for taking a look and commenting.
I was hesitant to report back to my friend, but she took the news quite well. We will look into what it means or takes to have a flock of cockerels only.

If there's no girls around the boys don't have much to argue about and get along pretty well, or so I've heard.

I wish I had the room to keep a bachelor group so I didn't feel rushed to decide which to keep.

They look like broiler rangers, so a type of meat bird.
Ah, thank you for IDing the type, and thank you for the tip option.
My friend acquired the chickens to be pets and is already quite attached to all six of them.

My friend and I live in South Africa, but completely out of interest I would like to know more about the bulk rehoming cockerels for $20 for a group to offload fairly quickly. Will cockerels be going to a sanctuary type of home?

Probably not, a lot of people will advertise a group of chickens for one low price to get rid of them quickly. But most of the people interested in this kind of deal (especially if they're all males) are looking to process inexpensive chickens for meat.

Right, because they're broiler cockerels, they were bred to be meat/eaten because their bodies put on weight faster than normal chickens.
