I've heard two stories like this. I might just order from Ideal sometime to get some free freezer camp occupants.
OMG! Did you order your chicks on April Fool's Day or something??? Or your ex works there, and thought, "Heh heh heh! I'll show HER!"
Wow. 13. Super lucky for you!
(I have no idea on the breed, but I appreciate the chuckle I got from your post. Good luck)
Wow, that's pretty badlol poor you. Not an idiot, just manipulated
You should do something about it!![]()
Oh good!! I know brahmas are big boys! I love big chickens. We have a jersey giant female chickDocile, I can walk over and pick mine up. They don't fight....you may want to keep a big one. They get giant up to 12# plus and beautiful. Mature slow, takes about two years.
Post them on the website, if any BYC member local wants them, come get them......just an idea
Comb type please?
They are big!

They are very docile. Super sweet demeanor. I had two Brahma cockerels in with 4 other roosters. They never picked a fight with anybody and literally followed me around like I was their mother.
They get huge though. Basically like turkeys, but not turkeys.
Sounds like you're in luck then, if you got Brahmas and a Jersey girl.I love big chickens!!
I have three BJG hens, and they all fit this descriptionShe's my most docile hen -- very loving and doesn't pick on anyone. All the others cuddle under her on the roost to sleep, and she "chhhhiiiirrrps" a little song at bedtime. Took her 7 months to lay

My Jersey Giant is HUGE! She was supposed to be a Black Copper Marans, but was mis-labeled. I'd never had either breed, so I didn't know any better -- but she kept growing and growing. I figured it out with her egg was a pale rose/beige, and she has yellow soles on her feet.

Awwwww..... had I known I would have gotten more.I have three BJG hens, and they all fit this description![]()
Most of my new girls seem like a docile flock. I got a salmon faverolle, the jersey giant, SLW, ameraucana, barnevelder, cuckoo maran, and a buff orpington!! i’m going to see about getting an olive egger and a speckled sussex this late morning!
Of course they're docile, they have all those roosters kicking up the big fuss! lol
Sounds like you're going to have a beautiful rainbow carton of eggs every day, which is what I was going for. My egg customers love it, too. (very trendy where I live, but that's not why I chose my breeds). I added 2 Leghorns this year because I wanted more eggs next winter, and wanted to make my colored eggs stand out in the carton.
You're going to have SO much fun with all of these!
