I would guess, then, that it's a Serama cross. The solid yellow skin, the clean red color...it really isn't sensical, unless someone had a very clean reddish Serama line going, which I'm not aware of...but it could be going. Did the person you got them from have anything to say about their stock?
Feathered legs are dominant, so having clean legs is almost certainly intentional, so I'm again thinking Serama...but RED!? Haven't seen one yet!
Hold on to that sucker, because you may be able to work with it. I know RevolutionMama has lots of Seramas, and you could probably get some smooth Wheaten pullets from her to start playing with.
It won't do to breed him to the Cochins, as you'll diminish their leg feathering, and potentially their cushion (the rumpy puffy tail). What kind of a tail does this guy seem to be developing? If it's Serama blood, it should be straight up like it's trying to aim for his head. If it's of Cochin blood, they'll be floppy and tip over, spilling behing him.
ETA- Males tend to develop tails more slowly than females, so it's possible in the shots he's just slow in his tail growth, but to me he looks like a Cochin excepting the leg feathering. He would be a good way to get into the red Serama business, but it would take 4 or 5 generations, at least. I wonder whether he's not some Old English Bantam over Cochin? Very odd. Do correct me if I'm wrong about the tail being more of a cushion.
