If a person cannot spell, would you still sell birds to them??

I agree. I have well educated friends write like that to me all the time, emails, facebook posts, and messages. They are in the habit of it. I doubt he is going to eat a small bantam. He wants it as a gift, it's Christmas. I don't blame you for not giving him the bird, but you could ask him to make you an offer. I would also ask him about his brother who the gift is for; age, poultry knowledge, experience, and housing situation. This maybe a good home your turning away.

uhhh... but this could happen with someone who is articulate and spells to your liking also. so because he spells shorthand (or does it because he cant spell at all) hes a flake who keeps birds in boxes and fights them? seriously this is CL, anyone could be that bad. If youre not willing to meet with these people and see a setup youre basically making a shot in the dark no matter how they spell. this is kind of rediculous

I'm just more comfortable selling to someone who is more professional.

i think that sounds wayyyyyy better. Unfortunately its craigslist. its a free forum for people to sell things from cars to junk. I dont see why people assume cl transactions to be something on a professional level. I do not consider someone who is selling something on a free website that has personal ads to be a professional. I view craigslist as a place to sell something casually with lots of wiggle room on price. i also know that if i am going to sell something there i am not going to expect to be treated like a serious professional business person.

I would not use spelling as the sole means to your decision, think about it for a minute how many kids under say 18 can spell or speak proper English these days. Come to think of it not putting enough worth in your spelling may be a sign of low intelligence and laziness. Something worth doing should be worth doing right.

This is NOT dyslexia: "If ur goin to kill um I would like it if u could hand um off if possible im lil short on cash"

Due to the abundance of roosters and considering all the roosters that are given away each year I can see where he might ask you to give him yours. With all the free roosters in classified ads what makes yours worth $20 ? That may be his line of thought. If you are talking show bird or rare breeder that is different but does the guy asking for your bird understand that ? He may think it it the same as all the free roosters on CraigsList.

Just something to consider.

Tanicha: I think the fact that you asked on this forum says that you are trying to not be judgemental and wanted to see what other peoples experiences were in this situation. It shows you care.

Avonlea22: I completely agree with you. The messege does not look like one from a dyslexic person.

Edited for spelling

Kinda is a word. Like kinda. Because it's "kind of" in an Arizona accent.
