If goose eggs are taken now - will she lay more?

I'm trying to figure out what to do with my geese -- her eggs are probably no good as they were submerged underwater for several days and it's been 40+ days and no hatch. If I take the eggs will she lay more now? Is it too late in the "season"? Thanks.

If she's been sitting on them she's probably done laying for the season. I kept stealing my goose eggs and she laid for a couple of months (or maybe one girl stopped and another picked up, I can't be sure since I never catch them playing). But once the hormones tell them to stop, they probably won't start up again. 40 days is a long time to sit on the eggs with no results. If they haven't been sitting in cold water with no heat source for all that time, I would candle them and see what they look like inside. If they've been cold for two days, I'd toss them. The water probably won't hurt them, since goose eggs have to have such an unbelievably high humidity, but the temp could easily have killed them.

I just reread the post, if she has been sitting on them for 40 days and no hatch, I would throw them away. She may start to lay again.
