what do I look for in buying a used miroscope? will I be able to take the dander my poor 1 and1/2 yr olds are leaving on the poop trays and roosts? their flaking peeling in places skin esp on their bellies...
also can I look at all those feathers Im finding.?
esp at nite waTCH those poor things scratch and stand up a lot and esp peck at their bellies...?
now my 10 months old(in seperate coop) are losing feathers and shaking their heads and scratching either their ears or faces>>>>.and picking at their bellies mostly they all run togher. they wont lay their eggs in the old coop nestbox (attached on outside of coop)heck they avoid that coop and yard mostly....
i put olive oil or vaseline on them almost everynite their legs that is...
Im going to lime their walls of that old fence bd constructed coop before I put up the 1/4 plywood that I painted,,, and will seal the cracks....
will change out the bedding to... Just wish Hubby did not make the coop so close to ground.. bet mice etc live under there. Plus cant get rid of those blankety wild birds....
Guess will spay coop again after taking out that horse bedding too
will that Exprinex pour on also help if they have ear mites? applied it a week today??? Hate chemicals..
If I dip those wildacting chickens of mine it has to be soon cause fall is here that I dont want to do.....

Well I don't think you need a microscope to determine if you have mites. If you are interested in a closer look at them a magnifying glass will do that

DANDER all over their poopboard trays and cardboard in their many shelters.....how is a magnifying glass going to help me look at their dander....??????? Dander is terrible... more feather loss than poop......Peeling skin galore esp on their underbellies.....
I still bet its those tiny depluming mites.. Will I be able to see those mites with a microcope....? sure cant see with my eyes and a flashlight???

did that........ used magnifying headset tonight bright lights and strong led flashlights.......... see nothing but peeling skin and lots of bare skin.......

Did you go to the link that @ivan3 suggested? There they talk of sarcophic mites. If that's what your chickens have then they will be next to impossible to see even with a microscope because those are burrowing mites which live under the skin.
Ivan's link gives great advice.
