That is a fantastic diagram~ I want to let you all know though, that in parrots- I have seen them still fly enough to get up to the top of a doorway with the second diagram- usually its the cockatiels and parakeets. In other words, the lighter birds. I am not sure if the same would apply with the lighter weight ducks or not. But if you have a more confined property fence you dont want them to get over, make sure you see how they do with that clip before letting them out without supervision.(Fig 2)
