TO encourage a girl to become broody - my buff orp seems like she's thinking about it - will the eggs from before she decides to sit need to be marked for pulling out?? If I leave today's production on the nest should I mark them so I'll know which they are?? The girls obligingly laid them all (10) in one nest.

I wouldn't think so.

I always put golf balls in the nest to encourage the gals to lay there.

I think if a hen is going to be broody she will. There isn't much you can do to make them go broody.
