My thought also! They breed very easily and they are so cute when they come out! One of my mollies had 35 babies! They come on so many colors too.. Good Luck!

I would stick with the livebearers, guppies, mollies, swordfish, etc. I had guppies and they bred great without much help. You just had to provide places for the babies to hide, or have a nursery tank, that way you could take your pregnant females out and then the babies would be safe from all the other fish but their moms.

Babies will get sucked up into the filter, so beware.

Betas are fun, but they require a lot of "extra". You have to keep the males and females seperate until "just" the right time. Females can be kept with females, but males MUST be kept seperate from males or females. Therefor you must have plenty of extra tanks to keep the males seperate. Even if you keep the males seperated into jars(like many breeders do) you still have to clean 1/3 the water out weekly or every other week. A bit too much work for me. LOL

Guppies(and other livebearers) can be kept in a communal tank. Multiple males and females together without a lot of aggression.

I have a 150 gallon FW tank. If you are looking to make money stop and turn the other way. If you are doing it just for fun good luck. I bred guppies to feed my 150. It was a pain and a mess. You can not use regular filtration in the tank you will suck the fry up. You have to remove the mother and father or they will eat the fry/babies. The pairs should only be together when it is spawnig time.

my grandkids and i breed guppies i would go with guppies there are so many colors. we set up a seprate tank for the babys and use spounge filters. they are fun to breed and easy too.

All the live livebearers are all the same when it comes to sexing an breeding. Very simple. Betas are very hard to get to breed an when you do the babys are hard to keep alive. Miniature seahorses are pretty simple once you make the change over to saltwater.
