if my 2 year old takes his diaper off one more time.... updated...

When mine were 18 months old. anytime we were at home no diapers!!! I just put on the cloth training undies and take them to the potty pretty often. And with boys... they love to pee outside . That is how they both potty trained letting them pee out on the grass. It only 2 weeks and they were done. A few times in those cloth undies... trust me they do not like the feel of wet on them. and we did reward everytime a totsie roll for the oldest (his favorite) and smarties for the yougest (his favorite).

I'd do the training. My DIL was sitting for a boy that age that did the same thing. She told the mom she was going to start training him because it had to be easier than cleaning up the mess. Mom gave her a $500 bonus a month later when she didn't have to buy diapers anymore. lol.
It's also a good idea to be very regimented about food and drink times when doing this to establish a toileting pattern. No sippy cups of juice all day long. If you always eat at the same time you will almost always void at the same time. Good luck.

I feel your pain. My son will be 3 next month and it wasnt but a month or two ago we was going through this same thing, I was about to pull my hair out. His daddy showed him how to pee outside behind a tree, he thought that was so cool, but figured it was OK to poop outside too. He was at a flea market right outside a store with this grandmother and she was standing there talking to a customer and he pulled his pants down and pooped right there! Needless to say Grandma was SOOO embarrassed. I laughed til I was in tears when she told me that story.

I guess Misery loves company:) He is thankfully all potty trained now and doing very good.
Yes, it will pass, it will just seem like it never will, then one day it will be all over.

When my DD was little she would pull her diaper to the side to pee and then poop. When I figured out she was looking for the "proof" of what she was feeling I stopped getting so freaked. It was still another long four months or so before she finally got the potty training idea. Stopping what you are doing to go potty is annoying and inconvenient!

I feel for ya! But, this will soon be dropping them off for their first day of college!!

Yup....mine has been stripping and NOW is HIDING his diapers LOL I guess he forgets that I have a big basket of them...

he did it .. but today he has a touch of runny poo.. and has been alot.. so he has been stripping down saying "potty" and running to the bathroom and sitting on the potty... not much comes out but at least there is a little... oh we are soooo close.

my pediatrician has an article - I think it's called 40 days and $40 (or something like that) - keep em naked (they dont like it running down their legs)throw them on the potty if they do. and the $40 is for a steam cleaner rental when your through

also my day care only allowed cloth diapers in their toddler room - they were intense on training there - all the batter for me
