If my girls were hatched April 15 week, are they 18 wks or 16 wks????

I have a stainless steel poacher. Water goes in the bottom and egg goes into a buttered cup, put the lid on and lightly steam. Serve on hot buttered toast! Now I'm hungry.

Sounds good. Are they the kind with the screw top and a little smaller than a mug? I have some of those... How long do you steam for? 3 minutes like a soft boiled egg???

I do it the old fashioned way. I heat up water in a deep skillet, crack the eggs into the water, give them 3 minutes and scoop them out with a slotted spoon. You don't want vigorously boiling water or the currents disturb the egg whites before they can set. I also slip them into the water just above the surface. I've tried using a small bowl to slide them in, but they turned out about the same and it was more of a hassle.

I like to make toast, stack it on the bread board and cut it up into bite sized pieces. I just slice into strips, turn the toast and cut in the other direction. It's fast. I put the toast in a bowl and put the eggs on top. The eggs are more moist the way I make them and it all soaks into the toast nicely. This is one of my husband's favorites.

I also poach mine in Ramen soup sometimes! Since the noodles and the eggs both take 3 minutes, it works great. It also adds protein to the soup, which it's lacking. I add the noodles first, then the eggs. If you have some fresh spinach or chard in the garden, I like to add some of that at the same time. Yummy!

Wow, that sounds like one awesome ramen noodle recipe! That's taking it to a whole other level!!

It's really good! I like to use the pork flavor, when I poach eggs in it. I just like the flavor combination. When I use bits of leftover cooked meat, seafood, chicken or veggies, I use some of the other flavors, too. I think the roast chicken flavor is way better than the plain chicken flavor, too.

Eggs can also be poached in plain broth. That's also good!

DurangoCal, I think what you have are egg coddling cups. Also a very yummy way to make eggs!

Yes that's what they are-coddling cups! I need to find myself a recipe. Thanks for the tip on the Ramen. I will definitely try that-especially for the boys after football. I bought them some 12 packs because they are ravenous wolves after practice. I like the idea of the extra protein and that is usually why I don't have any! Now I will...
