i vote pullet on the "blue-laced" EE in question. yes, there are hackle feathers of an ambiguous nature, but NO saddle feathers.

here is a picture of one of my EEs that looks similar to the one in question. notice how mine has "rooster" hackle feathers. in person, they're pointy and even just the slightest bit shiny. she doesn't have SADDLE feather though. she's DEFINITELY a hen. lays a light "pink-ish" egg. i know, because she was the first of a batch of chickens to lay. squats all the time!

Julie- me or noitulover ? If mine, they came from a feed store. She ordered them from Dunlap.

I meant wyo-helpmeet. Thanks. Is that Dunlap hatchery? I just want to know for future reference. All the EE's I've ever had were the brown gold variety.

The best way to answer this question is to really see if the eggs are fertilized. Stick them at about 100F for a week or two and check for growth. If nothing, the bulls eye might just be a fluke.

All of my ee's are officially girls. The light grey laid a couple weeks or so ago. The grey (that drew so much disagreement) finally laid for the first time yesterday & I confirmed it was her today!!!

I have the one buff in question. It just acts..... differently than the other chickens. And the wattles are wicked huge! I got 7 eggs yesterday! SQUEE!!!
