YESYESYES, I just got my largest combed chicken to do the mounting squat!!! YESYESYES

It is the first time I've been able to get near enough to her to touch her, which is in part why I had my doubts!!

I do believe I have ALL girls!!!

2 reds- check
2 BO's- check

But of course that one was a girl. Never had any doubt.

Really, a boy at this age will already have lots of pointy and super-shiny feathers all over neck, back, saddle(by the tail) and also on the wing bow. It's twice the shininess of the shine on some girls.

Some boys will involuntarily do the squat if touched/grabbed. Just look at feathers on neck and back.. if they're "soft" and round tipped exactly like your other BO, it's a girl.

I have argued that the whole "bulls eye" thing is not a guarentee that the egg is fertile, but no one seems to want to listen.

Yeah I wonder about that too.. has it been really proved or is it a case of someone started it and eventually everybody says it, so it "must be true"?

I really think it has been just passed down. I have taken several poultry science classes and nothing was taught on this subject.
