If the Rooster Breeds with the non laying pullet - Should I start looking for some eggs?

He shimmied right over and was MR. Suave and I wrrecked his day and broke it up but she let him get on her and sat right down.

So do you think she might be nearer to laying some eggs?

Eggs have nothing to do with the roosters, and infact I will never let a rooster on any pullet before sh get to at leat 7 months of age.

Yeah, could be 2 days or a month.

I wouldn't say it was. I had a roo aggressively mate-attack some 17 weeks olds, that were VERY "young for their age". He was just practicing his dominion over the new girls. The girls didn't lay for some weeks yet after that.

But every day he breeds her, she's a day closer! LOL!

[/img] Lutzy is the one to the right both hatched 5/15 and not that I am ready to have her start to breed, he didn't hurt her and she was amiable to his attentions and sat right down until I interupted them as I walked closer to see which pullet he "hooked up with" sorry bad pun!

This was taken a couple of weeks ago - as of this week both are displaying very red waddles, combs and the skin around their eyes. Really bright red like the Rooster.

There might be something to that "Expressing Dominion" Before they wanted nothing to do with him and I seemed to have two flocks 4 from 7/20 hatching and the other two from 5/15 and they ignored each other. Lately, he has been concerned about all the 5 girls and wants them all to travel together around the yard. He has taken to rounding everyone up and chiding anyone that gets too far from the tour group.

I am just looking for signs - ANY sign they are nearer to laying an egg or two.
