If you buy meat from the store, how the heck do you think it got there

I had a good friend who was vegetarian. We had to brand calves one day, and my husband and I took home some raw calf fries to cook later. Our (vegetarian) friend practically begged us to come home for dinner with us to have some rocky mountain oysters. Her rationale was that it was ok because no animal died. I thought that was reasonable logic.

i agree, but i don't enjoy eating meat. as soon as i can, i will become a veggie girl. but, if i were to eat meat, i would want to eat something that had a good life before it was killed and that was loved. the meat people get in the store was totally abused before it was killed.

I just ask people to do some good ol research on some of the meat they get. When they find out the conditions of the meat, the meds, things it was fed and its living conditions then they will understand why people can kill their own stock for food. It is so much healthier and you feel so much better knowing you provided for your family all on your own.

yep! was that video on PETA by any chance? i made my friends watch it because they did not believe me and they are so hostile towards animals. they think differently now. i had a debate in school about animal testing and i brought up how people would never do it to people. the response i got? but they're only animals. it doesn't matter. they were put on this earth for us to use. AHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! that made me soooooo mad!!

My husbands grandfather worked in a chicken slaughter house and he refused to eat chicken. He said if you took a tour through that place you would never eat a store bought chicken again, and he wouldn't.

I do believe animals were put here for our use. They are for food, clothing, and companionship but I do firmly believe in humanly killing them.
