If you could live anywhere in the US...

I like where I am. I would however like a mild and I do mean a mild winter with no snowand nice temps, but that will never happen. I t is bad doing chores in knee deep snow with 20 and 30 below temps.

Palermo Italy ( Sicily ) That would be my dream place for sure.

It's that special time of of the year here now, that I sure wish I had a place in the south!

Am I crazy for living here?

After spending our summers in wisconsin as a kid then living in ca. for 30 years , we are where we want to be , its
a slice of our own heaven to us.

I grew up in Wisconsin and have lived in Ohio, Guam, New Mexico, and now Texas. I have spent a lot of time in Kentucky and visited most of the states (and most of the world for that matter). Any place is what you make of it, I rather quite like Texas, but nothing compares to home. We recently decided to move back to Southwest Wisconsin where I grew up.

This photo is from National Geographic and was taken a few miles from where I grew up and where we have recently purchased a home. The fog is over the Coon Creek, nestled in between the river bluffs a few miles from the Mississippi river. The photo was to highlight the contour strip farming on the bluffs.

I like where I live, but it's just too dang close to the Washington/Baltimore/Phillie/New York/Boston Metro Madness. People here in the DC area are largely rude and inconsiderate - mostly because of the transient nature of administrations and Congressional offices. Like now - houses have gone up for sale and new people with no real stake in the area are moving in for jobs inside the Beltway.

I'd move a leeetle further south maybe - like the Va/NC line area - I gotta have my seasons but my snow-shoveling, ice-rink-commute days are getting sorta old.
