I have 10 Black Australorp Hens and 2 Australorp Roo's. As soon as I get another pen built, I am hoping to have True Araucana's. They are gorgeous birds.

Buff Orpington, without a doubt in my mind. They are the perfect bird IMO...beautiful, large, docile, good layers, good meat quality, great mothers and excellent foragers.

Dominiques are a rare and very easy to get along with bird. They also make for a very attractive yard ornament and lay very well. The eggs are easily marketed too

My dream is to raise Orpingtons of every color known to exist. It would be fun seeing what colors I'd get from the crosses too.

Delawares have been a favorite here.

I do not believe Popcorn will get a Delaware from the cross she is proposing, even though that is how the first Delawares were developed. I believe the came from a "sport", a chance mutation of that breeding, so not every combination of that cross will produce a bird that has the characteristics we call Delaware.

So far we have really liked our Sussex, Welsummer and Ameraucanas too. We are thinking about adding Dorkings or Orpingtons or Buckeyes...

There are just so many really interesting breeds to look into! I hope you find what you are looking for.
