If you have to have a permit to keep quail

Illinois requires a record of who you sell to, not their permit number. IL also allows you to have quail for your own use. Are you sure you need a record of the buyer's number?
What a hassle!!!

I'm sure it will go thru. When we got ours we didn't know either. A friend of ours sent us some eggs from the west coast and we had hatched them and were just rolling right along. That's what we were thinking, they were for our own use - "permits?? we don't need no stinkin" permits" Then we did some checking - oooops.

We bought our pheasants at a feed store last spring and it was the same deal, they didn't ask for anything paperwork wise. The owner was trying to get us to take all that they had about 30 of them, Probably should have and got a deal thinking back but we just got 10.

According to the rules you have to use a recipt and record your license # and the buyers # and both of you are supposed to keep that for inspection if asked

At least it sounds like you only have to provide it if asked. Do you know if this license will allow us to keep pheasants if we so desire later on? Good to hear that you think we will get the license no problems:) Thanks!
