If you were told you could only raise ONE breed, what would it be?

I would have to go with either the BO or my RIR. I love both of them but my RIR seem to my favorite.

I would have to choose the BO's as well. All are very gentle natured even the roos. Plus right now in the cold weather, my BO's are laying the most eggs and eating the least amount of feed.

If I had just one breed to raise it would the Millie Fleur D'Uccles. I love this breed.

I love the Brahma's .They are good natured and to me one of the most beatiful birds there are .

Partridge Rocks! Sweet cuddly good sized birds, nice dual purpose bird.

My BO's are mean, shy, odd.

My BA's have torn feathers out of half the flock.

The SLW is afraid but I don't blame her with the BO's and BA's in there. One BO went away yesterday. The remaining one, Bishop, might calm down with Snark gone.

Ponder (barred rock) is also scared but sweet, but we're fixing the BA problem this weekend. They're now called noodles and dumplings.

Only Bear, the BA hero chicken gets to stay and she's mellowed significantly since the attack.

Rocks. Probably always rocks unless Delawares get me.

Definitely would have to be more Braggs Mtn Golden Buffs, Americaunas, Aricaunas, Delawares and Buckeyes... very hearty here in S. Central Michigan... my flock is out in 10 - 12" of snow/ice from the current storm scratching at table scraps... and current temp is about 25 degrees headed for 32 for the high...

I m loving all the breeds, but whichis the most tameable, the l\\kids lost lovey last week and the Cuckoo Marans I hatched out from eggs that are 6 weeks old are evil.

I am looking for gentle tameable chickens that my children can love on and had feed treats to.

Loves was a Hubbard Golden Comet.

I was breeding buffs brahmas for about a year!
So, from my experience Brahmas are very kid friendly!
Easy to handle & Gentle!
They also have the Pea comb less chance of Frost bite!

There are many breeds that are easy to work with everyone will have there own favorite!
