No, i understand. everyone had already said it was wrong information so i just decided to delete the post. im a bit confused though, what do you mean about dosages and meds? This was to avoid picky eating in birds and not medications. Everyone was just either saying picky eating was false or i was feeding my birds to many treats (which i had not said but i can see how that could have been a fault on my end) you can choose not to take advice from wryneck from me, whatever youd like. im not continuing the series anyhow because of the whole thing this has brought. I genuinly try my very best at these forums and dont take it off of google, i was simply showing it wasnt something that i just decided to make up, and other people including people on this site have had the same issue. I never make up things and try to avoid things i could mess up, which i even take advice from some experts to write this forum. I appreciate the comment, you have no reason to listen to what im writing at all, thats why i simply deleted the post, i didnt think i said anything that could hurt someones poultry, just saying that you might wanna limit treats, may wanna do certain things and all this started. it was my fault though and i decided i didnt want other people to look at the post and take something different off of it, like follow the advice if everyone else said it was bad.Even I have owned chickens for longer than you and have kept more birds, but I do not go around "pretending" I know everything. I learn from the experts and stay out of what I have no clue on. BYC is supposed to be an accurate forum, but when people try to act like they know something, it can be really serious, especially in the ER forum. I know I do not know more than the "experts" a lot of whom have been owning chickens for longer than I have been alive
Anyhow, I am not trying to be mean, its just that I have once fallen
for misinformation and if it weren't for the people on BYC, my birds would have gone down hill really fast. I would not want myself or anyone to ruin the reliability of this website. I hope you can understand? I know you are not trying to kill birds, but dosages and meds can be really dangerous if not understood completely.
Google can be wrong as well. Once you own chickens long enough, you will know there is more to it. Its not as straight forward as it seems. There are so many myths online and BYC has been the most reliable. I am hoping it stays that way. I would rather take advice from someone who has dealt with wry neck and such. A lot of the experts on BYC are also really good at knowing the "whys" behind everything and how they function and why they even work at all. Those foundations are really important.
^ and THAT is why location data in your profile helps. I'm in the N Florida Panhandle region, as you can see at left. Thanks for the advicehere in the UK things are much harder to get hold of…it could be me being dizzy
but I have googled flock raiser since you have replied, I can’t seem to find it, Amazon is saying change your postal address for suppliers to ship

Hi, im sorry if i sounded rude or anything, i was trying to figure out what exactly i did wrong? The reason i deleted the post was because people said it was wrong info, i didnt want more people to follow the info and do something they shouldnt have, not to throw a fit or anything. I appreciate people told me it was wrong so i could fix it, i was just a bit confused exactly what i did wrong? I think some people may have misunderstood what i said exactly, because i wasnt telling anyone to feed their chickens tons of treats (or that i feed mine a ton for that matter) i said the exact opposite. I didnt quite understand how saying not to feed chickens tons of treats came into me giving all this false info, im not saying anyone did anything wrong, its obviously my fault, but still trying to figure out what i said exactly to cause it.I choose to believe that the OP means well, but is very young. Thank you^ and THAT is why location data in your profile helps. I'm in the N Florida Panhandle region, as you can see at left.
"All Flock" or "Flock Raiser" is a term of art, used to loosely describe a bulk bag of typically nonmedicated chicken feed with a nutritional profile of about 18-20% protein, 3.5% fiber +/-, 1% Calcium +/-, often with a bit of added niacin (not important to chickens, but very important for ducks and geese).
Now, I happen to know that our friends across the pond in the EU typically make use of lower protein feeds than we do here in the US. A lot of recent studies they've made (which I greatly appreciate) on formulating lower protein feeds (13-14%) supplimented with synthetic amino accids (DL Methionine, and L-Lysine mostly) to acheive satisfactory feed results.
Let's see what I can find.

No, please dont be sorry. Im glad everyone told me what the problems were so people wouldnt get influnced of bad things, thank you. It might not seem like it but im glad everyone said something, im still just a Bit confused how people thought i gave my chickens a ton of treats though. I think there could have been a slight confusion in the thread, because everyone thought i gave my chickens so many treats on a daily and told me not to do that, which is my fault because i think i gave that impression, to anyone asking i dont. i feed them “treats” that are like alfalfa and arent even bad, i used blueberries as a example in the thread, my chickens dont like blueberries anyway. I can assure everyone they get mash, chicken feed, slight alfalfa every now in then, grains and nuts and thats what they eat.x2.
OP, I'm sorry if I came off as rude. I should have been more gentle with my messages. I hope you'll accept my apology.
Also, sorry, i didnt get this notification. Also, do you have a source for where you're getting this information? A credible scientific study, not some chicken blog?
I ask because Kiki is considered one of the feeding experts on BYC, and I'd like to see credible proof against her statements, knowing that she has put time, effort, and research into her point of view.
Not sure about your "picky eaters" post, but I have never had a bird being picky over treats, which they rarely get. They have been picky with non processsed poultry feed, which is why I now get crumbles instead of whole grains (this was the first misinformation I fell for). I free feed my flock and check their crops (by feel) every morning. Never had an issue with free feeding. Treats are extra and not needed. Not sure what you wrote in your original post. Did you talk about vitamins? No, i understand. everyone had already said it was wrong information so i just decided to delete the post. im a bit confused though, what do you mean about dosages and meds?
