Yes Day old buns are better because they hold up better. Let me check how many brats I got. I've been a little off subject lately - Dad is sick and I'm his POA. I think I have 60 brats perhaps more I will check tonight.- some poeple will have more than one. I hope that's enough. I'm baking 3 of my mom's cakes for breakfast with coffee,\\
I've never done smores but I hear they are popular. Of course you are not getting close to that bonfire enough to cook over it. Up to you on that.
I've made Ice tea.
Mark wentand bought a roll of raffle tickets yesterday.
The Will County Humane Society has come through with their donation box and it is at Mark's office.
The police have been notified of a large gathering, I just need to call the fire dept and inform them about the intensity of Saturday's bonfire.
Chicagoland Speedway will not be blocking our street for their event happening the same day (often they do) but traffic may be a little thick until you get close to the house - then we won't even know they are there.
I borrowing a game of bean bags and I have a game of lawn ladder golf.
I'm supplying my DH with MGD 64 and me with Hard Lemonade.
The meadow has been shaved to 10" or less to make for a comfy soft under tent. I won't mow again because I don't want dry fuel incase the bonfire wants to go for a walk.
The areas around the bonfire, house, hill, parking, driving trails, and a neighboring field have been mowed short.
Hoping to mow the Chicken enclosure today.
Mark has added I don't know what or how to the bonfire and I can see from the house it's a doozy!
I've put away most valuable breakables and stored weapons in hard to reach areas.
Looks liek good weather but I have cleared out the garage and willb be sweeping
THERE IS A REFRIDGERATOR IN THE GARAGE THAT CAN BE USED! WE PLUGGED IT IN LAST NIGHT. Whatever you are bringing, you just need to get it here at a safe temp and then it can go into the fridge.
I'll have a beer barrel full of Ice and beer to welcome all for a drink. You can add your own if you like. "It's 5 O'Clock Somewhere"
We are pulling out as many chairs and tables we have to have them ready.

Suggestions on anything I've overlooked?

I am soooo sad that I can not make it!

Maybe it is a good thing though...I know how enabling us animal people are...I'll end up wanting more ducks and chickens!

Have fun all and take PLENTY of pictures to share!

Denise, What time are you thinking of for a starting time on Saturday? I have a friend who wants to pick up a couple of pullets and need to tell her a cut-off time for when I'm leaving here. Mary

Would NOON work with every one?
If you'd like to come sooner you are welcomed. 1 person wrote me that they can't make it until about 4pm.
But for the hardy peoples, they are calling for "a possibility of passing sprinkles" in the Chicago forcasts. I like to get my tent up before any precipitation. That forcast applies to generally Chicago and North of there through the Wisconsin boarder since they pretty much ignore the southern part of the state past I-80 on the Chicago broadcast networks. Yesterday, the forcast was Sunny, no rain. Day before it was rain possible on Saturday night. We'll see what tomorrows forcast will be.

I hope it doesn't rain though, Mark spent 6 hours yesterday re-mowing the grass in most of the public areas so It would be nice and neet for us. I

that man!

No matter- if it gets soggy outside we can all be inside and comfy! The house is set up for that. All we would need to do is get a couple of men to carry 1 light but bulky table upstairs into the great room and extra chairs. We girls can dry it off and we're rockin! ( Yes, We do run a traditional home with chores cut right down gender lines like they did in the 50s and I can't remember when the last time I opened my own door unless I was alone...Did I mention I

that man of mine?)

Sounds like you got everything in order. Do you need paper plates/napkins? I can pick up some. We have a small screen tent to set up if needed.

That map is great!

We should be there between noon and 1pm. Just look for a big black truck haulin a BIG grey hunky camper!

Unfortunately you're going to have to count us out
