Illinois...

Dog Woke me up yesterday around 2am wanting out. Didn't leave any turds until the afternoon and hasn't eaten. Walking short distances and has to rest yesterday.
Last night he woke me up trying to get up on the hardwood floor. Got him up and to his bed, he is still breathing this morning. Seems to be sleeping comfortably, time will tell.
He had a similar spell last week where he didn't eat and walking slow, but not as bad.
St Bernard mix about 12 yrs old. Don't think I can get him in the car without hurting him and the vets aren't open anyway. Not sure I can get him out the door to shoot him either. Not that I want to shoot him :hit :barnie
I may have to find a mobile vet.
Really very sorry for your loss. It helps when you know you did the right thing, I understand

Just cracked an egg in the skillet and the yolk was solid and the albumen was watery. Also smelled like feet. This egg could be older but it just passed the float test yesterday.
Eggs that almost freeze can be like that
Solid yolk

The Odd Family Update:
My intellectually challenged silkie MaiMai hatched an orp egg 10 weeks ago. (This was the 1st time she went broody and didn't try to incubate her food bowl. She actually incubated & hatched a chick!!!) At the time, I also had a traumatized serama pullet afraid of other chickens, so I decided to see if I could bond her with the little family to help integrate her into my bantam coop. She spent 4 months living alone in a storage tub and it was time for 'Solo' to move out.

Remember:

2+ year old silkie (mama)

Here are some pics of my odd family. They are still companions. It's been pretty cold out, so I often find some seramas snuggling under this orp. The serama looks bigger in the pics than she actually is. For some reason she kept running up to the front. (She has that "look at me" type of personality.)

@homeschoolin momma
How does the school closure affect your job? Will they still serve the lunches via drive through? (Our district handed out a few days worth of breakfasts & lunches at a time. Now they're doing it only on Mondays for the whole week.)

and the obvious question: How do you feel about being a home school mom again?

We were serving everyday, but now have switched to M,W,F. M and W we hand out 2 days worth and on Fri only 1 days worth. I then head home at 1ish to homeschool. Grandpa does a good bit of it before I get there. I then take care of chicks and chickens while keeping the kids on task. How do I feel about homeschooling again? It sucks. It really does. I had a whole 6 months of peace before this. The highschoolers practically ignore their asaignments, and the 13 yr old is an all day process. :he The two youngest are the easiest, especially the little girl. She just gets up when I do and does her work. Im busier than ever and sometimes I just want to cry .....:hit

:hugs Hang in there.

DS took it hard and cried when I told him the news about school. I'm blessed that he still enjoys it. He likes the computer and would spend all day online if I let him. Of course the other day I caught him setting a timer. Right away I knew something was up. He figured out that he could open his video lesson in a window (ignore it and play a video game or watch TV) and then mark it as completed when the time's up and move on to the written questions.
