Illinois...

Thanks very much for this!
It's good to remember that this treatment doesn't work well for head lice anymore, they've become immune to the pesticide. That's one reason I only treat when I know I have an infestation.
So far I haven't read that mites and lice have become immune to sulfur... works on the dog for fleas and tick prevention... and me... just stinks, but I take a shower before I go to town anyway 😂

Now that I am reading all this, I think *I* have mites!!! I've had really dry, painful cracked hands with some little raised bumps showing up here and there for almost a year now. When I first noticed they were super dry, I thought it was because I was doing a lot of painting and home projects and then gardening. But then it didn't go away and kept getting worse. Sometimes I'll take a Benedryl and I've tried cortisone creams and darn near anything to help them. The only time they get better is when I am in FL so then I thought maybe the humidity there was helping. But it actually makes more sense that it's mite bites that I am scratching (although I try hard not to). I guess it's dusting time!!!

I know I will sound crazy but I saw the back of either a bear or jaguar (black bobcat, mountain lion, something ). I was working late out rte 6 in joliet by I&M canal. Look over 2 trailers and I see the black back of an animal just the other side of the trailer. It was 24"-30" tall. I looked away 3 times to rest my eyes and make sure i wasn't imagining this. After opening my eyes the 3rd time i made 15' dash to my truck in 2 steps. Never saw it again.

Or black cougar

How long ago? Could have been a dark phase of some kind of wild cat. There was talk of a black panther sightings, but I don't remember when. Maybe the 70s or 80s

. Next day reports of mountain lion... following hickory creek. For a week reports of it through Joliet along desplain river
I grew up right by hickory creek. My dad still lives there. Every winter when it freezes we take a trip up it till someone falls in or till we get too cold.. you would never believe we are in the middle of the ghetto.

It's an awesome adventure. I'd love to go in summer but too many broken bottles and debris for a safe journey. I played in that creek so much when I was little. One time I stepped on broken glass and got a terrible infection and doctors thought I had spinalingitis. Thankfully it cleared up. I used to eat the crawfish I caught in there. It's a miracle I'm alive today lol.

Lol but you all have good fun.
Well except the infection, but that's a danger of being barefoot. I used to eat fish I caught in hickory creek, didn't think much about it, blue gills mainly. My brother said one was a small mouth bass and we threw it back in.
