Illinois...

I thought my birds had worms. It turned out I was just giving them too much protein treats. Sunflower seeds and mealworms. I cut back on the protein and poop return to normal. Not certain its your issue, just what I've come across.
Added... also I remember someone saying occasionally added food grade DTE to their feed to deworming them.
Yes, I've had runny poop when the flock eats "chick starter". They're on a layer feed now but it could be a treat issue. They were given old broccoli, kale, and Brussel sprouts. Not moldy or spoiled, but not in its prime. Perhaps my portions given were too generous....

Ever heard of a Chicago Fig? I purchased a sapling today and potted it in a large planter. Not sure I'll have food this year, but some say they produce in the first year. We shall see... My chickens might be enjoying figs by summer's end, along with me and the kids of course.

Turkeys are good protectors, have pretty feathers, and taste good, so they do have some redeeming qualities.

... but certainly NOT

Intelligent?
"Wonderful" personalities? (maybe unique or quirky or needy)
Cleaner than chickens?

Where are they getting this stuff!?

I guess dumb, prone to accidental death, and cabalistic tendencies toward day-old chicks would not help them sell their poults.

:lau :gig
Certainly not cleaner, the 💩 stinks more than chickens.
Definitely different personalities than chickens, but I like them better...most days.

One of my CX now have a wound. This one is concerning. She acts fine. I go near her wound and she doesn't seem to care. I sprayed vetricyn and put blukote over the red. I dont think this one is from ticks or fleas. I could just about put a complete thumb in the wound. Her left rear

Will be watching the next few day to see if I should cull.
If it is from the back, bottom. it can possibly be a opossum attack. They munch on chickens from the soft bottom side. So sorry for this :hugs
Is there anyplace in your coop/run, that she would have fallen onto a sharp projectile??

Not the size of my thumb. I almost wonder if she got frostbite and was injured but injury just opened? She could have been attacked but again it's a hole the size of my thumb and no other damage. Possible aggression from another hen but they dont show any excessive aggression when I'm watching. I don't think she would do this to herself biting fleas? Possible small bite from tick but the others see blood and keep biting? Makes most sense I think?
