Thanks. My fav is actually the page he wrote about his past projects, but the hatching is always fun. The Zoom was a quick share at last min, since the hatch came much earlier than expected. After reloading every 40 min and then the accidental mic or camera being left on, I'm so glad he got the website to do livestream.

Not only is it live, but you can rewind to find a more exciting time when they're napping.

Now @Molpet can see all her babies. Most are brown this year but a few whites.
12/12 control group made it to lockdown
5/12 shipped group made it to lockdown
Then there are a few extra unmarked eggs that I added for another BYC friend (just in case the shipped group was a zero)

I got a lav orp and SLO- those also just added and not part of the experiment. I could get up to 6 orps. I find my turkeys do better when raised with chickens.

Soon I'll have to sort out my broody bunch mess.

It's interesting to see how many shipped didn't make it to lockdown.

I went out and seen a hatched egg shell from the turkey due in 4 days. I seen 2 browns and a white and a spotted white. Which I soon realized was a chick. A couple ft away a turkey had been stealing chicken eggs, so I guess they are hatching too. Acts like a cockerel

Turkey results:
12/12 control group developed and hatched
5/12 shipped developed and only 3 hatched. The turkeys hatched early, so those 2 eggs are getting more time. 28 days = Fri morning, but I expected them this morning because @Molpet 's eggs tend to hatch a day early. I set some chicken eggs due to hatch tonight.... but then I also slipped a few more. I plan to wait until Sunday.

So..... If you've been watching the hatch live-streamed throughout today you'll notice the numbers of peepers going down. I've been slipping them under broody hens. It's been quite the project. I brought inside the 4 hens that were sharing a nest box. They spent the night bickering and just wouldn't quit. This morning I grabbed 3 dark cardboard boxes, shavings, and the hens. I kept the 2 MGB sisters together but the others had to be split up. After they calmed down, I started adding poults & chicks. I've got 3 brown poults left then I'm back down to eggs in the incubator.

There's a lot of noise, but otherwise it's going OK. The sisters are in the lead and have all the chicks covered. No hen pecking with the others, but they're also not going out of their way to welcome the babies. Sometimes a cold poult will be on wrong end of box. I must keep checking.
