Well, its been a rough day. I either got into something, or something bit me days ago. It started off as just ichy skin on my back and right front chest. Then i started having pain in my upper back through to my chest and this angry raah has appeared. It hurts to walk, lay down....i cant get comfortable. Just taking care of all my chickies today was exhausting. I couldnt even fall asleep last night until 6am.

Trying to make it until Monday to go see the doctor. I really dont want to go to the er. Grandma thinks its shingles, but I'm not so sure. Lots of bugs were chewing on me last week and weekend.
On top of it all, i dont think my Spitz chick is going to make it. It keeps getting weaker. My dad and I have done all we can do. But all the lav orps and 5 other spitzs are thriving. Plus next friday is our big experiment hatch. At least 13 more spitzies should be arriving.
I did get some newer brooder boxes yesterday. One for the chicks and a bigger one for big batches of chicks or the ducks. That one is a 50 tote, but the ducks wont be in that much longer. They have tripled their size since arriving. DH cut a hole in the smaller tote and put hardware cloth in place so fat cats dont reach in and well....help themselves.
Tonight something had Jake all riled up so much that he refused to go to the coop to go to bed. I was doing DD hair for tomorrow and saw then hop on the fence and then fly into the tree in the pasture. Im already not feeling good, and was like now I've got to go knock chickens out of the tree? Fortunately, just tugging on the lowest limbs shook them out. Couldnt find the black ee chickens so was wondering if something got her causing the panic. Grabbed up mama spitz and walked to the coop and let her walk inside. Stuck my head in and low and behold, there she was fast asleep!

The other girls cautiously followed, meanwhile Jake was just bwaaking his head off the whole way in protest. He eventually manned up and went in and calmed down. Poor guy is going to have chicken "gray hairs" by the time i bag this coyote.
