Illinois...

@BReeder!
Still just the 3 ducklings. Let's wait 'til Monday to see what happens.
I have a fear that I should have put them into the hatcher sooner. They may have been trying to pip when in the incubator at 30% humidity. That means that your current duck eggs may also hatch early. How are those eggs dong?

They have moved to their final home.

Made tractor an open plan so it's easy to change if I want. Still a few tweaks in the works. I don't like only using poultry fencing but it will do for now.

Still debating next year's challenge...... ducks, turkeys, or sustainable meat chicken breed?

If you want calico heritage turkeys or meat mutt chickens and have an incubator ... I can provide

Keep an eye out for sick coons.
Yesterday About 12:45 I was mowing the bottom and a raccoon came from by the poultry yard right towards me. It stopped and sniffed and turned north, then it started going in circles. I left the mower and when I got back with the pistol it was still going in circles. A yearling female about the same size as the male I got this morning...so this is 13 so far.
Well I guess the raccoons are gone one way or another...no sign of them. :yesss: :ya

Which is a good thing since several turkeys have decided to set again :he
