I didn't mind them on the swing-set or coop roof. They started hanging out on top of the garage roof- which the next door neighbor found hilarious. The turkey would just sit and watch her as she worked.

Then they started getting trapped in the other neighbors' yard. The people didn't mind the visits, but the poor poults had no food or water so they'd pace the fence in worry. Why not fly back over the 4' fence? or up into a tree? It got old 'rescuing' them a few times per day.

Yes, it was time to ground them. Now I'll have to make sure I only take pics from their "pretty" side.

Here are my 3 Stooges. (They're always getting into things together.)
Don't you just love how they look up expectantly?

Don't you love turkeys :hugs
Even with all their faults
It's a love-hate kind of thing. They can be very annoying, get in the way, bully the little chickens, eat too much feed, fly onto the roof, hop the fence, etc. They can even get into something and not figure out how to get out..... like our garage (just go out through the back door where you walked in )

I do enjoy watching them, they have pretty feathers, they may deter hawks, and they will taste good.

They also like to pose for photos and give me several funny stories to share.

Went to Farm and Fleet, and stocked up. Romeoville, Montgomery, and Elgin, are equal distances from my house. Chose Elgin, for the most traffic free option.

Last bag of 50 pounds of Oyster shells lasted me about 10 years. Of course my flock is small. Glad this stuff does not spoil. I still have a pretty good quantity of pigeon grit. Currently pigeons are on hold, so I have been offering the grit to my hens free-choice also.

And something to cheer everyone up. DD made these, (crocheted) and sent to all family members. :thumbsup
