Went to Farm and Fleet, and stocked up. Romeoville, Montgomery, and Elgin, are equal distances from my house. Chose Elgin, for the most traffic free option.

Last bag of 50 pounds of Oyster shells lasted me about 10 years. Of course my flock is small. Glad this stuff does not spoil. I still have a pretty good quantity of pigeon grit. Currently pigeons are on hold, so I have been offering the grit to my hens free-choice also.

And something to cheer everyone up. DD made these, (crocheted) and sent to all family members. :thumbsup

Love your "new puppy" :barnie
"A little snippy" :gig

At last night at lockup 2 chicks were calling for a sibling. One has always been tardy, but shows up when they call. The still sleep in the nest box. Looked through the coops, yard and fence line. Probably the hawk again. Not one I was going to keep but still.

Have a broody I can't break with the heat.. and found a hidden nest in a tractor, so I threw her in there a couple days ago... she didn't sit on the eggs behind the dog house.. but started sitting in the dog house. Gave her the 6 eggs and filled up the incubator with Steve's eggs. She wants to be a mama, she can be a mega mama LOL... Probably a couple more will go broody anyway

So much for the storms, I didn't get a drop.

Wild hen visit. She tried to get my toms attention earlier in the year. But neither flew over the fence. She roosts in trees just inside the fence sometimes, but doesn't come down inside. My hens aren't happy with her LOL

Gonna have a hard time choosing between them! Both are sweethearts.

Look who finally ventured out of the coop!!!
A pretty serama boy in need of a home.

Another serama boy. This one reminds me of Teddy (his father).

Little Lonely. She's technically no longer lonely because she has the 2 boys following her around. She also has 4 orp sisters. The seramas run and hide under the orps when frightened.

One of my customers is at a huge warehouse in Ottawa. I just started working I think it was Thursday. All of a sudden I hear a huge explosion. Even the echo was like something from mythbusters. Then the generator starts screaming.
I later found out a hawk flew between 2 of the fuses and grounded out. He took enough electricity to power a warehouse.
