Today's leftover: herb and cheese rissoto with peas and diced turkey breast. I also made cranberry sauce bars; a shortbread with cranberry sauce layered in the middle. At this point I don't care if I never see another turkey again. thank goodness I was able to unload most of it on the neighbor.
I had a very low-key Thanksgiving, carefully isolating, and it was the dog that got sick! I have never seen so much coughing and snot come out of a dog in my whole life. Thank goodness he's on the mend, still coughing and we still have to dodge him when he sneezes.

Turkey Soup.
Today, took the turkey carcass, and removed most of the meat. The remainder Bones, and some meat went into pot to cook down into a stock. Added veggies, and some of my Whey from cheese making, and turned it into this delicious soup. The bones I took out of soup, went to the chickens to pick clean.
I don't give the chickens any of the leg tendons, or other small bones, but the rest they handle very well. All that is left are the bones. I toss that out, since don't want to attract any raccoons to dinner.

Those are home-made croutons on top. The picture shows the sun shining thru the window onto my plate. ☀ Kind of neat and unusual, since the sun is low in the sky now.
Tomorrow, I plan on dicing some of the remaining turkey meat, and make a Home-style CHILI. ... By the time everything cooks together, hard to determine what the meat is.EXCEPT,,,,,,,,,DELICIOUS. The chili seasoning works wonders.
I do make CHILI often using ground turkey instead of ground beef.
I will try to remember to take a pix tomorrow.

I know lots of people are worried about covid. I respect everyone and you are free to your own point of view. The news sounds scary but I try to focus on overall picture.
12.6 million illinois population
730k total cases
13k deaths
So 5.7% of illinois population have/had covid and 1.7% of those passed away.
So 1.7% of 5.7% of the population have deceased.
If you were worried I hope this eases your concerns a little in noisy stressful times.

I agree with protecting those with complications but the rest of us should be free.

Plus between my type O+ blood and my entire life of exposure to all things gross and germy, I am pretty sure I am immune to everything so lemme out!!!!!

I agree that everyone is free to have their own point of view.

I try to eat properly and do other things to prevent heart disease and cancer, which are the two top killers in illinois.
I used to wear a n95 at work so I don't think a cloth mask is a big deal ... I would rather wear a mask than a bra, I wear both in public... I can take the mask off easier LOL

Really came out well. Just a touch more blond than my regular chili. I can eat chili everyday,,,,, along with Most other Mexican Cuisine. Hot or mild.

Enjoyed it with a few Cheese Quesadillas.

My little Chihuahua decor is one I pull out for the season. Fresh set of batteries, and he is singing away.

I cooked a venison roast and with some of the leftovers I mixed salsa and beans...sorta like chill LOL
