Illinois...

Been up since 4:45 am. Have shoveled paths to the coop, little channels for sledding, and our 3 car parking area in front of the garage into a mountain my son wanted to make a cave/tunnel. 28,000 steps and I'm not done for the day. I exhausted. Even my dogs are wiped out.View attachment 2510615View attachment 2510616View attachment 2510617View attachment 2510618View attachment 2510619
We have at least 9-12 inches. Higher in the drifts of course. And its coming down again.
Why not fix or use that tractor with the bucket?
Never mind, I'm caught up now. If I had time I'd help with the tractor, I'm a diesel mechanic. Does it crank ?

Doesn't rendels just up the road, work on them? Probably charge an arm and a leg though
They do. They had just done an in warranty overhaul on the engine. Kept it for like 3-4 months. Then 3-4 months later, it stopped working. Of course its no longer in warranty. And towing it there is like 200 bucks.

It used to. For awhile there I was using a screwdriver to hotwire it to get it to turn over. Then that stopped working. My dad told me what he thought it was but I cant remember. He says the flywheel isn't engaging. The part starts with a c......maybe cylanoid?

Sounds like an easy fix if your dad determined it. It is just like Molpet stated above. SOLENOID.
This place online, I have purchased from numerous times. Never had any issues. They do sell new and is their own manufacture. Also priced right.
This is link to where I got the snip from.

This LONG week is over. Today was sledding and a birthday party for my nephew.
While sledging with DS, my niece and my nephew I list my cell phone. The snow on that side of the asked hill was nearly two feet deep. When I went back to look for it, there was no sign. I went all the way back to my sister's house and met with my wife there to and used her phone to locate mine using Samsung's tracking feature. Sure enough it was still on the asked hill right about where I dug out a fort for a snow ball fight. We went back and I dug up 20-30 feet by 6-8 feet worth of snow that was all roughly 2 feet deep. I finally found it only about 3 inches below the surface.

Did you try calling it, and hear it ring in spot you suspected? We do it when we loose phone in house.
Yes. When DW and I went back that was the strategy after getting close to were it should have been. Mind you the small fort was gone sure to kids sledding. DW and I along with some friendly strangers and our ears just inches above the snow listening for the ring tone. E heard it, but just faintly and it was hard to determine exactly where with the wind bowling and kids noisily playing all around. The snow definitely muffled the sound a lot also. Eventually my phone died and stopped ringing. That's when I just dug up that whole area until we found it. Afterall, I knew we were close at that point.

Glad you were able to find it. I try to keep it in a zipper inside pocket of my coat.... but of course I forget after using.
