I'm not liking this cold weather... although the leaves are finally falling so I an covering the garden needs with mulched leaves and then packing leaves in the chicken and duck runs as bedding. If there's still some leaves after that, I'll fill the empty compost section with mulched leaves too.

Winter isn't coming any more... it's here! Stay warm and safe travels to anybody going to visit family/ friends for the holiday.

Water was frozen almost solid this morning

I love my heated waterer for the chickens. I'm still figuring out what works best for the ducks. I might get a trough heater or bird bath heater. Our pls are smaller than troughs and larger than bird baths so I'm not sure what to buy.

I had gloves on this morning.
An hour after I took water out it was iced over.

Is this a turkey egg????? I found it in the nest box tonight.

I only have the one Jenny. She's been squatting for me the past week or 2, and the males are certainly strutting. Sadly (and gladly) the males are leaving tomorrow. The female will stay a bit longer. Her move (to a new home) will likely be the 1st week of Dec.
